It may still be winter, but it’s never too early for spring cleaning in the kitchen! Even if you are someone who wipes up food messes from your appliances here and there, it’s not enough. It’s important to scrub with cleaning supplies that will kill any germ and bacteria out to get you. It's your kitchen after all and the last place you want dirty is the place where you make and eat food. Move aside dust and grime, you don’t stand a chance with these simple cleaning tips!
Stainless steel
It doesn’t take much to make stainless steel look new again. Grab a cloth, vinegar, baby oil, and mix them altogether! What you get is a smudge removal concoction made to wipe away all those unwanted fingerprints on your appliances.
The Inside of the microwave
If you open the inside of your Thermador microwave, you are bound to find the dried droplets of an array of food all over the walls. It looks like a massacre in there, but the mess won’t be difficult to clean up if you do it our way. Place a clean, wet cloth inside and microwave it for 3 minutes. Once done, the steam from the cloth will have loosened all the muck, making the cleanup a piece of cake.
Dishwasher
Vinegar is a godsend when it comes to cleaning appliances – especially your dishwasher. All you need to do it is fill your dishwasher detergent compartment with vinegar and run a normal cycle of the empty dishwasher. The water deposits should wipe off like butter!
Cooktops
If you combine baking soda and lemon juice together, you get a grease fighting machine in a bottle. The baking soda acts as a nice scrub that isn’t too harsh to scratch the cooktops surface. After you’re done, wipe it off with a wet wash cloth to remove any of the remnants leftover from the lemon and baking soda.
The better you clean and take care of your appliances, the longer they’ll last! If you happen to find that your appliances are too rusty, old, or just not working right, stop in to your local appliance store to find Thermador appliances to replace them.
